BWC1500-H Containerized Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis System

In extra-large water-consuming scenarios where brackish water resources are abundant but fresh water resources are extremely scarce, desalination equipment with ultra-large capacity, high stability, and strong adaptability is crucial for ensuring water supply security. The FENIGAL BWC1500-H Containerized Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis System, with a dual-container configuration of "40ft + 40ft" as its integrated carrier, integrates high-performance desalination components, an intelligent control system, and an efficient maintenance module. Relying on its daily 1,500-ton-level water production capacity and ultra-low energy consumption advantages, it provides professional and large-scale brackish water desalination solutions for scenarios such as extra-large towns, ten-thousand-acre-level agricultural bases, and large industrial parks.
As the flagship containerized model for ultra-large-scale brackish water desalination in the Desal BWC series, the BWC1500-H adopts a dual-container modular design: the pretreatment system, two-stage reverse osmosis unit, chemical cleaning and dosing system, and electrical control unit are respectively deployed in two 40ft standardized containers. No additional workshops need to be built, significantly reducing on-site construction work and land occupation costs. Designed based on the working condition of "4,000 ppm, 20°C brackish water", its rated daily fresh water output reaches 1,560 cubic meters (calculated based on a rated water production flow rate of 65 m³/h and 24-hour daily operation). This capacity can meet the daily drinking water needs of approximately 7,500 people, or support 15,000-acre agricultural irrigation and circulating water demand for large-scale industries (such as electric power and chemical engineering) .
Ultra-Large-Scale Integration and Rapid Commissioning: Over 95% of component installation, pipeline connection, and program debugging are completed in the factory. On-site operations only require connecting the main water inlet pipe, high-voltage power supply, and drainage network. The cycle from equipment delivery to official commissioning can be shortened to less than 20 days, which is much faster than traditional decentralized desalination systems.
Strong Corrosion Resistance and Long-Term Durability: High-pressure pipelines and fittings are made of Sch10 SS316 stainless steel; the container frame and inner wall are coated with heavy-duty marine anti-corrosion paint (thickness ≥ 80μm); core components in wet areas (such as membrane housings and dosing tanks) are made of corrosion-resistant materials like duplex steel, SS904L, or UPVC. These designs enable the system to withstand brackish water erosion for a long time, with a designed service life of more than 15 years.
Industry-Leading Low Energy Consumption: Equipped with a high-efficiency high-pressure pump (efficiency ≥ 85%), IE3-class ultra-energy-saving motor, and low-energy reverse osmosis membrane (water production energy consumption per unit area reduced by 12%), the energy consumption per unit water production is only 0.99 kWh/m³, which is 25% lower than the average energy consumption of similar extra-large brackish water desalination equipment in the industry, significantly reducing long-term electricity costs.
Four-Level Filtration and Membrane Life Guarantee: Adopting a four-level filtration process of "coarse filtration + sand filter + pre-filter + main filter", it can trap particulate impurities, colloids, and microorganisms with a particle size ≥ 1μm in brackish water, avoiding wear of the high-pressure pump impeller and pollution of the reverse osmosis membrane. The service life of membrane modules can be extended to 3-5 years.
Intelligent Operation & Maintenance and Rapid Fault Response: Equipped with a Siemens PLC control system and a 10-inch touch screen, it supports real-time monitoring of key parameters such as product water flow, TDS, and pressure. It can be upgraded with a remote data collection module on demand to realize fault early warning and remote diagnosis. Core components use standardized universal models; in case of failure, the system can be quickly restored to operation by replacing parts, reducing downtime to less than 4 hours.
BWC1500-H adopts the core technology of "deep pretreatment + two-stage reverse osmosis" and realizes efficient desalination of brackish water through the closed-loop process of "water intake - pressure-stabilized storage - deep purification - high-pressure desalination - product water storage - membrane maintenance". The specific steps are as follows:

Water Intake and Pressure-Stabilized Storage: Brackish water is pumped by a high-power Intake Pump and sent to a large-capacity Feed Tank (volume ≥ 80 m³) for temporary storage. The water tank is equipped with a liquid level sensor and a frequency-conversion water replenishment device to balance the inlet water flow and pressure, avoiding the impact of inlet water fluctuations on subsequent processes.
In-Depth Pretreatment and Purification:
The Feed Pump pressurizes the water to 4-6 barg, and at the same time, Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC) is dosed for impurity flocculation, and Sodium Hypochlorite (NaClO) is dosed to kill microorganisms in the water (residual chlorine controlled at 0.5-1.0 mg/L).
The water flows through multiple parallel Sand Filters (Φ1400mm × 8 sets) to filter particulate impurities with a particle size > 5 μm (if the inlet water turbidity is < 0.3 NTU, it can be switched to bypass mode).
Sodium Bisulfite (NaHSO₃) is dosed to remove residual chlorine (residual chlorine < 0.1 mg/L to prevent oxidation of the reverse osmosis membrane), and a high-efficiency Anti-scalant (dosage 2-3 ppm) is dosed to inhibit scaling of calcium and magnesium ions. Finally, the water passes through a Safety Filter (precision 5 μm, multi-filter element parallel connection) to trap tiny impurities, providing a final protection for the reverse osmosis membrane.
Two-Stage Reverse Osmosis Desalination: The High-Pressure Pump (HPP, two pumps in parallel, total power 64.4 kW) pressurizes the pretreated water to 20 barg (maximum system pressure), first sending it to the first-stage reverse osmosis membrane module (60 pieces of 8040-type membranes) for preliminary desalination, then to the second-stage reverse osmosis membrane module (48 pieces of 8040-type membranes) for in-depth desalination, and finally reducing the product water TDS to below 500 mg/L. The high-salinity concentrated water is discharged through a pressure relief valve (with pressure feedback) and can be recycled for non-drinking scenarios such as slag flushing and dust suppression on demand.
Product Water Storage and Membrane Maintenance: Fresh water is stored in a Product Tank (volume ≥ 150 m³) and transported to water points by a frequency-conversion product water pump. The system is equipped with two sets of Cleaning in Place (CIP) devices (including 2 800L CIP tanks and two CIP pumps), which can alternately perform chemical cleaning on the first and second-stage reverse osmosis membranes to restore membrane flux and desalination efficiency. The cleaning cycle can be automatically set through the control system.
